The renowned Cullen Bay Hotel occupies an outstanding positon just 1/4 mile west of the Royal Burgh of Cullen. From its commanding vantage point, guests enjoy magnificent panoramas of Cullen Bay and its 'singing sands'.The Cullen Bay Hotel stands on the former site of Farskane House, a residence of the lairds of Gordon dating from 1677. In 1924 Farskane House was converted to the Cullen Bay Hotel by Mrs Simpson. Cullen at that time was stongly influenced by the Temperance movement whereas Farskane House was located just outside the Parish Boundary. Washed by the warming gulf stream, the Moray Firth frequently delights guests with sightings of Dolphins, Porpoises and Minke Whales.
