The Proprietor turned a dream of owning a business in the Yorkshire Dales into reality when he took over one of Pateley Bridge's oldest listed buildings in 2002. He renamed it Talbot House and has been refurbishing it ever since. Simple updated accommodation in a former 18th century coaching inn, this three star Guest House on the High Street is being restored and upgraded in keeping with its original character.We have Double and Twin en suite rooms with showers, all our rooms have televisions, tea-making facilities, books and magazines. The Proprietor’s career spans working for Grand Metropolitan Hotels in the South, running a wine bar in the City of London and managing the restaurant at The Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate. More recently he spent three years with Borders Books and Music where he indulged his love of good literature and cappuccino.For the holiday-maker, Pateley Bridge is in the spectacular countryside of the Yorkshire Dales in the valley of Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a wonderful base for walking, cycling and sightseeing. Nearby is a large variety of visitor attractions, including Fountains Abbey, How Stean Gorge, Ripon Cathedral, Ripley Castle and Stump Cross Caverns. We will provide you with maps and a guidebook and either take you to your day’s starting point or pick you up at your finishing point. You can start your holiday on any day you choose, and extend your stay by adding extra days for exploring the many attractions that Yorkshire has to offer.Please Note: We are a Non-smoking accommodation.
