In Schotland ben je nooit ver verwijderd van een meer of van de zee, die een belangrijke rol heeft gespeeld in de ontwikkeling van de natie. Je vindt er tal van maritieme musea, zoals het 'Scottish Fisheries Museum' in Anstruther, en het 'Maritime Museum' in Aberdeen dat een fascinerend verhaal over olie weet te vertellen. Vele van deze stokerijen zijn vrij toegankelijk voor het publiek en bieden rondleidingen en proeverijen aan. |
